Business Culture Design

describes how organizations can purposefully shape their culture in four phases using the Culture Map.

The book was first published in 2016 by Campus, with a second edition following in 2024. In addition, Business Culture Design was published in English in 2018 by University Press Chicago, and in Chinese in both 2020 and 2024 by PHEI.

Culture Map

With the Culture Map culture becomes tangible, discussable, and designable.
A Culture Map illustrates cultural patterns based on seven value clusters, each represented by a distinct color. These patterns reveal the defining characteristics of a culture.

The Culture Map is described in detail in the book Business Culture Design.
The model is based on memetics, the study of cultural evolution. It integrates scientific research and innovative theories with practical insights gained from collaboration with companies and organizations.

My Colors

My Colors makes individual (leadership) behavior visible and discussable – fully in line with the logic of the Culture Map.

In addition to the personal profile, the My Colors Feedback Sessions in particular help to understand one’s own cultural impact, strengthen relationships, and purposefully develop the overall leadership culture.

Shadowing

Leaders are accompanied by a "shadower" in their daily work and receive differentiated feedback based on the Culture Map logic. By reflecting individual behavior patterns – including potential blind spots – this process fosters the development of personal leadership skills and strengthens the overall leadership culture.

Culture App

The Culture App is a digital tool for sustainable culture development – simple, mobile, and customizable.
With features such as My Colors, Culture Radar, Habit Challenges, and Live Reports, it combines inspiration with measurability: providing insights into personal and collective patterns, fostering targeted reflection, and helping to align leadership and collaboration with cultural coherence.

Culture Cards

The card set presents concrete initiatives, impulses, and best practices from the world of culture development. The Culture Cards foster creativity and openness in designing effective culture initiatives.
